Hey everyone Chris here!

Sorry about the lack of update yesterday, but we went through 3 states that are not in t-Mobile's coast-to-coast coverage. So with out any more delay:

Yesterday we got out of our "reasonable" motel, at 8am (MT time) to have breakfast; we were all pretty beat from the day before, and hungry. I drove down main street Cody, and we stopped at the Irma Hotel and Saloon, which was founded by Buffalo Bill himself!! The food was good, the service was better. The place has been open since 1902, and though some things have changed, the place still feels authentic. The cherry wood bar is apparently the most Photographed object in the entire town! From the wooded walls, to the western style decorations, to the trophy heads of elk and buffalo on the walls, it creates an atmosphere of the wild west, without being tacky.
From there we went to the local sporting goods store. Jordan, the clerk, was amazingly helpful, for one, he had been to Yellowstone on several occasions, and was able to tell us of some great spots. Then if that was not enough, he helped us plan out a route that we could do in one day! I bought some Bear spray, because safety first, though Alexei scoffed at me. Also bought: a water bag and a good map of the park.

We then stopped at a Walmart, despite to the moral objections from Tak (rightfully so, but I am CHEAP!) We got a Large bottle of water (to refill our water packs), sandwiches, trail mix, apples and oranges.

We were finally on our way about 10am (MT time), It was only a 50 mile drive to the park, but the speed limit was around 50 mph so it took us an hour; the scenery made up for the slow driving speeds. The park's east entrance was not crowded, but more than I was expecting for a Tuesday in October. 25$ got us a pass that was good for a week, which is the only pass they offer. Immediately we were stopped by a ranger, she told us that they were doing tree work and that it would be 3 min's. It was three minutes. Best update ever!

The park, in a word, Spectacular! A day was not nearly enough to even scratch the surface. We drove down the main road around lake Yellowstone, on the way we took a small detour up to a look out point, photo included.

Then we went straight to Old Faithful, and to eat our lunch. There were literally hundreds of people there! We managed to get a good spot, and just in time for the geyser eruption. Impressive would be a word for what we saw. After most of the people cleared out so we ate our lunch with the company of some rather wary ravens trying to get our curbs and truing to keep other birds away.

There were many other geysers around Old Faithful as well as some hot springs. These are connected by a series of board walks. Which makes for a great, if egg smelling (sulphur) stroll. One could spend the entire day, or several days exploring, and waiting for some of the less regular ones to erupt, but we were on a time table, so after watching Old Faithful again (about 1-1/2 hours), and some phone banking drama from me (transferring funds is actually pretty easy over the phone), we left for our next destination in the park.

We drove not so long this time, maybe 15 mins, to the Prismatic basin. The amount of steam coming off it was impressive; the boardwalk around it was partly obscured by it, and it was fun just to stand at let the wave of hot steam cover you, followed by a gust of cool wind.

Then Tak took over driving, and I took a nap, the drive was in Tak's own words "very twisting turnery, a lot of uphill, and the down hill was great *pauses* its a driving experience that can not be missed, especially of you like driving" Tak does not endorse this quote. Also Pro tip: Sunglasses are really a necessity, do not leave without them!

The next stop was the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, and the view was breathtaking, we stopped in numerous locations along it.

We then tried to go toward our hike at tower fall, but the road was closed, and though we could get to the hike, getting back would have meant driving though the park at night, and the roads, though fun to drive during the day, are not what one would want to do in poor visibility.

On our way to the North Gate, we encountered the best reason for a traffic jam ever: Bison on the road!

Then we reached the mammoth hot springs, but did not have time to really explore. On the way out the north gate we encountered elk,  then we were out of the park! (6pm MT)

We then headed toward seatlalalalalal where we stopped somewhere in Montana for Famous Dave BBQ! We got a insane amount of food!

We then dove until 1 am(MT), got a room at the super 8, and slept well!

Good Night Everyone!
